Lord Aircraft Engine Shock Mount/Cowl Shock Mount for Cessna Aircraft - J7444-14

My Cessna uses the Lord J7444-14 cowl mounts to hold the cowl in place. These mounts wear out quickly if the cowl is not a good fit to the cowl mount. The best way to adjust the fit is to use worn out Lord cowl mounts with the rubber removed to shim the mount into a better fit. When attaching the lower cowling it is easiest to turn the upper fastener first to support the cowl on each side, but if you then release the upper fastener and start at the bottom fastener it is much easier to turn each fastener. My bottom cowl mounts needed shimming to conform with the shape of the cowling and the shape of the fuselage.
