Starter Adaptor Spring (PMA Continental) - S539800M40

Aircraft Specialties manufactures this PMA spring as a replacement in Continental starter adaptors. They come in several sizes if your starter shaft requires grinding undersize. The M030 and M040 sizes are unique to Aircraft Specialties. Send in your starter shaft and gear for rework to the next standard size.

PMA replacement for TCM starter clutch spring.  Fits most "Classic Style" or “serrated drum” starter adapters.

EASA customers – Please be aware the STC for the M30/M40 spring sizes are Now EASA STC Approved as of Feb 2018.

Special note: Installing a S539800M40 spring does NOT require replacement of the steel sleeve in the housing. This is a considerable savings since using another manufacturer’s M43 sized spring will require the sleeve to be replaced.
